Granny square skirt—instructions
1. Crochet the granny squares using three rows of double crochet, one row of single crochet, and one row of double crochet. Vary the colors of the squares. The sample skirt has 36 squares and 6 gores at the hem.
Hem gore
- Crochet 13 ch. Make a dc in the 4th ch from the hook, then work 10 more dc (= 11 dc). Work a total of 4 rows.
- Start decreasing the gore. At the beginning of each decrease row, use a sl st to skip 1 st, then continue with dc.
- Crochet the next 4 rows with 9 dc, the next 3 rows with 7 dc, the next 3 rows with 5 dc, and the next 3 rows with 3 dc.
- Crochet one row of sc around the gore, working 2 sc in each dc and 3 sc at the corners.
2. Cut the skirt to your desired length but leave the lining long.
3. Sew the squares and gores together with the main color.
4. Attach the hem to the skirt by hand from the wrong side.
