The chart is worked flat using intarsia technique.

Sunnuntaiaamu knitted headband—Instructions:

Using MC and 4 mm / US 6 circular needle or DPNs, CO 24 sts. Work in St St flat in rows but begin every row with sl1 wyif and end with K1 (Garter St). This will create neat edges.

Work 2 rows. Then on Row 3 of the work (RS), attach CC and start following the chart. Keep the CC floats at the back (WS) loose, making sure not to pull them too tight, so the headband doesn’t curl. Keep repeating the chart until you have worked it a total of 8 (9) 10 times. Then, work 2 rows with MC. (The work now measures 42 (47) 52 cm / 16.5 (18.5) 20.5˝.) BO all sts using the standard technique. Cut yarn leaving a tail of 20 cm / 7.75˝.

Next, the ends of the headband will be joined, and a knot will be created. Fold both ends lengthwise in half and arrange them overlapping so that the wrong sides are facing out. With the remaining yarn tail, sew the ends neatly together and fasten off. Weave in ends.

Turn work and steam block lightly.
