Pet bed—make a plush nest for your furry friend with our instructions
If you have a sewing machine, you can easily make a bed for your pet. All you need is some fabric, stuffing, and string. You can customize the size of the bed to perfectly suit your pet. Our sample bed has a diameter of 90 centimeters.
Pet bed—materials:
- 2 meters of fabric
- Scissors and a sewing machine
- Stuffing
- 3 meters of string
How to make the pet bed
1. Fold the fabric in half and cut out a circle to get two identical pieces.
2. Pin the circular pieces together with right sides facing inward. Sew around the outer edges, leaving about a 12-centimeter opening unstitched.
3. Turn the fabric right side out. Sew a casing that fits your chosen string, again leaving a 12-centimeter opening.
4. Draw a circle in the middle of the fabric (about 20–22 cm from the edge) and sew along it, leaving a 12-centimeter opening for stuffing.
5. Fill the resulting cavities with stuffing and finish sewing the seams. Cut openings in the casing and finish up their edges, then thread the string through.
6. With the string, adjust the bed into your desired shape—a snug nest or a roomy mattress.
