3 stunning peony arrangements with just three flowers
With just a few lush peonies, you can create a stunning bouquet or arrangement. We’ve designed three showstoppers—which one is your favorite?
Blooming magic wand

Remove any excess leaves from the peony stems. Arrange the flowers at different heights and tie the bouquet together with string. For a fun accent, wrap a colored ribbon around the stems to hide the string beneath. Re-cut the stems and place the bouquet in a vase. This striking bouquet wonderfully complements the Aalto vase by elegantly showcasing its beautiful shape.
Delicate twig nest

Start the arrangement from the twigs. Make a light, circular nest at the top of the arrangement with twigs to highlight and support the lush peony blooms. Use thin wire to tie the twigs together. Once the nest is ready, attach three sturdier branches to it with wire to serve as the “stems” of the arrangement.
Remove the leaves from the peonies, except for the very top ones. Carefully thread the peonies into the twig base among the branches and tie the bouquet together with string. Finally, you can trim away any twigs that are sticking out too wildly. Re-cut the peony stems with a knife and place your splendid arrangement in a vase.
Tip!
You can gather twigs for the arrangement from your garden: meadowsweet or birch branches, for example. Don’t worry too much about the appearance of the twigs; a rough, wild-looking base complements the clean lines of peonies beautifully. Remember: when collecting materials, you must not damage living trees. You can collect fallen branches from the ground without the landowner’s permission (according to the Finnish Everyone’s Rights).
Beauty in three tiers

Saw thin round dowels into pieces of equal length. Bundle the pieces together at the top and bottom with rubber bands. Remove excess leaves from the stems and re-cut them. Insert the stems into the bundle deep enough so that you can see them at the bottom. It is important to ensure the flowers reach the water. It’s easiest to arrange the flowers by starting with the shortest stem and proceeding to the tallest. Cover the rubber bands with a lovely ribbon. Place the arrangement on a tray and add water. Check the water level daily.
