From scraps to riches
Turn leftover paper scraps into festive rosettes—quick and easy decor for any celebration
Beautiful paper rosettes can transform even a large party space. For this craft, it’s best to use materials you already have at home: for example, leftover wallpaper, gift wrap, or kraft paper.
Paper rosette—materials:
- paper (e.g., leftover wallpaper, sheets of gift wrap, or kraft paper)
- scissors
- glue
- string
- (hole punch).

Paper rosette—instructions:
- Accordion-fold a sheet of paper (approximately 40 × 60 cm [16″ × 24″]) along its shorter side. Each fold should be about 2.5–3 cm (1″–1.25″).
- Cut a semicircle or a pointed tip on both short ends of the accordion. If you like, you can also use a hole punch to add decorative holes.
- Fold the accordion in half and tie it tightly at the center with string. Leave the string ends on the underside.
- Glue the ends of the fan together. Alternatively, you can secure them from the back with paper clips so you can store the decoration flat for the next party.
Tip!
You can make two or three different-sized rosettes from the same paper and tie them together, one on top of another, to create an even fuller, multi-layered decoration.
