The hugely popular million bells (Calibrachoa)—is known for its endless flowering. The name million bells comes from the Million Bells variety group, a perfect reflection of the plant’s enthusiasm for producing a steady stream of charming, petite blossoms.

You can choose all the season’s trend colors from its selection of varieties which includes pink, dusty rose, pale yellow, and brownish tones. Soft pastel shades are easy to combine with other plants and containers of different colors.

Million bells varieties differ not only in color but also in growth vigor and habit. The bushy, compact varieties work best in shallow containers or as border plants. The trailing varieties, meanwhile, are ideal for hanging baskets and tall planters, as many can produce stems up to 70–80 centimeters long. If you prefer a more compact million bells, pinch back the longer stems in early summer.

How to care for million bells

Make sure to water and fertilize regularly so your million bells keep blooming well into fall. The bigger the flower display grows in summer, the more water it needs. Though the small, two-centimeter flowers may look delicate, they stand up well to rain and wind. There’s no need to remove old blooms because million bells grown from cuttings don’t use energy to produce seeds. If the plant starts to look overgrown during the summer, trim or tidy it up lightly. New buds will appear soon since forming small flowers requires very little energy.
