A symbol of love from yard twigs—make an easy heart-shaped wreath
Twigs are fantastic for many crafts, including wreath making. Transform them into a heart-shaped wreath and decorate with a little paint, a few eucalyptus branches, and some delicate decorative flowers. What a joy it is to come home to a heart on your door!
Heart-shaped twig wreath: supplies
- Birch twigs (about 50–60 cm long)
- Thin wire and wire cutters
- Eucalyptus branches
- Thick cord
- Light pink chalk paint
- Decorative flowers and craft beads
- Velvet ribbon.
Heart-shaped twig wreath: instructions
1. Divide the twigs into two bundles, each about 50 cm long and around 4 cm thick. Loosely wrap wire around each bundle so the twigs stay neat.

2. Arrange the bundles in a heart shape, crossing them at the bottom and touching at the top. Secure the intersections with wire. Wrap cord around the bottom to conceal the wire.

3. Paint the cord binding with chalk paint, and lightly brush some paint on the wreath. Let it dry.
4. Weave eucalyptus branches around the wreath, leaving some painted twigs visible.

5. Sew (or glue) decorative flowers along the top of the heart. String beads and attach them, along with a few standout beads. Finish with a velvet ribbon bow.
6. Hang your heart-shaped twig wreath on a door, wall, or window.
