Tangy and trendy—make cheerful lemon earrings from polymer clay
Sculpt gorgeous, fruity earrings from polymer clay. The little lemons look like they were freshly picked from a tree!
Lemon earrings—supplies:
- craft clay (for example, Fimo polymer clay) in at least three colors
- molding surface
- rolling pin
- mold
- a sharp stick
- small silicone molds for lemons, flowers, and leaves (you can also shape them by hand)
- earring posts and backs
- jump rings
- jewelry pliers
- strong glue
Polymer clay lemon earrings—instructions:
1. Soften the craft clay by rolling it in your hands until it’s pliable.
2. Once the clay is soft enough, roll it out into a smooth sheet about a couple of millimeters thick.

3. Create the earring bases by pressing them out with a mold.
4. Soften the clay for your embellishments in your hands as well. If you’re making shapes with a silicone mold, carefully press the clay into the bottom and sides of the mold, then remove it. Attach the shapes to the earring base by roughening and pressing with, for example, a small stick. The clay doesn’t dry while you’re working, so you can prepare all the shapes beforehand and arrange them on the bases at your own pace.

5. Shape the leaves into balls first, then flatten them between your fingers. Make lemon slices by cutting small slices from a roll of clay. Press the segment pattern in with a stick.
6. Use a stick to make the necessary holes for the jump rings.

7. Once all the pieces are ready, bake them according to the instructions on the clay package. Let them cool.

8. Glue the earring posts in place.
9. Use pliers to attach the rings between the earring components.
10. If you want your jewelry to have a bit of shine, finish it with a clear lacquer designed for clay.
