How to make the Knitted Christmas ball

  1. Cast on 12 sts with the blue yarn, distributing them evenly onto 4 needles. Begin knitting the ball in the round from row 1 of the chart.
  2. For each increase, pick up the strand between sts onto your left needle and knit it in the color indicated in the chart. After a few rounds, use a tapestry needle to tighten the cast-on tail inside the ball so the opening closes.
  3. For the decreases (marked with \), knit two sts together with the color indicated in the chart.
  4. After row 36, stuff the ball firmly before closing. When two sts remain total, cut the yarn (make sure to leave a long tail) and thread it through the remaining stitches.
  5. Crochet a hanging loop of around 50 chain stitches and attach it to the ball with a tapestry needle. Enjoy the holidays!
