
Just the right amount of bling: knit an easy lace shawl with sparkly yarn
This relaxed gray lace shawl has a hint of glitter. The simple lace pattern is manageable even for less experienced knitters.
Size: about 35 × 200 cm.
Gauge: 20 sts and 22 rows = 10 cm.
Easy lace shawl—materials
- 150 g of heathered gray (614) Alize Angora Gold Simli yarn (75% acrylic, 10% mohair, 10% wool, 5% metallized polyester, approx. 100 g = approx. 500 m)
- needles 3.5 mm (US 4).
Easy lace shawl—instructions
Cast on 79 sts. Knit 5 rows in garter stitch. Continue with 3 sts of garter stitch at each edge, and knit the rest of the stitches in a lace pattern.
Row 1 (RS): k3, k2tog, *2 x yo (= wrap the yarn around the needle twice), work an skp decrease (= slip 1 knitwise, k2tog and pass the slipped st over)*, repeat from * to * until 5 sts remain, 2 x yo, work an skp decrease: slip 1 st knitwise, k1, pass the slipped st over, k3.
Row 2: k3, *p2, k1 tbl*, repeat from * to * until 4 sts remain and then p1, k3.
Repeat rows 1–2 until the lace shawl measures about 195 cm. Then knit 5 rows in garter stitch and bind off all sts. Weave in the ends.
