Easy harvest
Ready to eat in a week! This is how easy it is to grow pea shoots
Growing pea shoots is easy and can be done even in the midwinter light on your kitchen windowsill.
Decorative pea shoots are bursting with healthy goodness and go well in a salad or a sandwich. Harvest them after about a week, when they are around 10 centimeters tall. Peas will produce new shoots if you leave the lowest leaves intact. Rinse the shoots and chop them up to garnish soups, or use them as they are in salads or sandwiches.

1. Choose peas sold as food-grade or specifically for growing pea shoots. Soak dried peas in water for about a day, until they have swollen.

2. Spread a couple of centimeters of soil in the bottom of a shallow container. Scatter the peas on top of the soil, leaving a few centimeters between them. Lightly cover them. Cover the container with plastic or a plate to keep the soil moist. Keep an eye on the soil, as excess moisture may cause mold. Move the container to a bright spot when shoots emerge, at the latest. Water as needed.
