Craft a lasting heather wreath for autumn
A heather wreath is a simple but striking autumn decoration that lasts for a long time. The heather sprigs dry naturally and keep their color beautifully.
Heather wreath—materials:
- wire
- pruning or regular scissors
- wire cutters
- heather sprigs
Heather wreath—instructions:
- Pick up thick and thin wire from a craft store. Bend the thicker wire into a wreath base.
- Snip 5–7-centimeter (2–3 in) pieces from a potted heather plant. If you have heather growing in your yard, you can use those just as well.
- Attach the thinner wire to the wreath base. Gather small bundles of heather and secure them by wrapping the wire around both the bundle and the base. Always cover the stems of the previous bundle with a new one. Once the entire wreath base is covered, secure the wire on the backside by threading it through the base.
