How to knit the Frosty wool socks
Cuff and leg
Cast on 65 sts with white, distribute them onto four needles (15/15/15/20), and join to work in the round.
Work Chart 1.

Work Chart 2. Note the increases on the first round. Then divide the sts 18/18/18/19. On round 83, rearrange them again to 13/14/14/14.

After completing Chart 2, switch to Sand for the heel.
Knit the sts from needle 1 onto needle 4. Turn work and p27. Turn work.
Work Chart 3. The heel chart is worked flat. The turning points are indicated by red vertical lines.

If you’d like written instructions for the heel, follow these steps:
Heel flap and heel turn
The heel flap is worked over 27 sts in a reinforced stitch pattern.
Row 1 (RS): k2, *sl 1 st, k1*. Repeat from * to * until 2 sts remain. K the last two sts. Turn work.
Row 2 (WS): k2, p23, k2. Turn work.
Repeat Rows 1 and 2 until the heel flap measures 26 rows, ending on a WS row. Begin the heel turn by working 9 sts: continue the reinforced stitch for 8 sts, then SSK. Turn work. Sl 1 st purlwise, p7, p2tog, then turn work.
Sl 1 st, continue the reinforced stitch for 7 sts, then SSK. Turn work.
Sl 1 st purlwise, p7, p2tog, then turn work. Keep decreasing for the heel this way until you’ve decreased all the side sts and 9 remain in the center.
Foot and finishing
Once you’ve finished Chart 3, pick up 14 sts along each side. K3, then k2tog. Now the start of the round is at the sole, with 64 sts total. Arrange them 16/16/16/16.

Work Chart 4 and make the gusset decreases as indicated. When you finish the chart, you’ll have 50 sts on your needles. Continue with white until your little toe is covered. Check the stitch count: 13/12/13/12.
When your little toe is covered, begin decreasing every other round as follows:
At the end of needles 1 and 3: k the third-to-last and second-to-last sts together, then knit the last st.
At the start of needles 2 and 4: k1, then SSK.
When you have 8/7/8/7 sts left, decrease every round.
When you have 5/4/5/4 sts remaining, cut the yarn and pull it through the last sts. Weave in ends.
