A haunting twist on copy paper
Spook up Halloween with ghost lights: easy paper ghosts for a sweetly eerie glow
This craft tutorial is super easy! Make ghost lights for your Halloween party using ordinary copy paper. You’ll also need glue, a marker, and a string of lights.
Ghost lights—materials:
- A4-sized (21 × 29.7 cm or 8.3” × 11.7”) sheets of paper (one sheet per ghost)
- scissors
- water and paper glue
- paintbrush
- black marker
- a round object for shaping the ghosts (for example, a roll-on deodorant stick)
- a string of lights
Ghost lights—instructions:
- Fold the paper in half twice, then cut the four equally sized pieces.
- Mix equal parts water and paper glue.
- Brush a piece of paper with the glue mixture and place it over a deodorant container (or similar). Fold the edges of the paper to create a pleated shape. Then brush another piece of paper and lay it on top. Repeat with 1–2 more pieces, adding additional mixture if needed. Let it dry briefly, then lift the ghost off the container to finish drying. Repeat for as many ghosts as you like.
- Once the ghosts have dried, use a black marker to draw eyes and a mouth. If you’d like to hang them on your string of lights, make small holes at the top and insert each LED light through. Hang up your ghost lights.
