Turn cheap plastic pots into a striking double planter—all you need is glue and paint
You can easily upcycle cheap plastic pots into a beautiful double planter for your houseplants. Attach two pots together at their bases, paint them in the color of your choice—and you’re all set!
Double planter: materials
- Two identical, flat-bottomed plastic pots
- A hot glue stick and a hot glue gun
- A small jar of enamel paint designed for model-making and a paintbrush
- Protective paper for the table
Double planter: instructions
- Glue the plastic pots together at their bases with hot glue.
- Paint the outside of the pots and the upper part inside the top pot with gold paint, then let them dry.
- Put the plant in its growing pot inside the decorative planter.
Tip!
Enamel paints intended for model-making adhere well to plastic pots. They are affordable, come in a wide range of colors, and one bottle will last you a long time. You can find them in larger supermarkets, craft stores, and toy shops.
