Crocheted flower bag—instructions:
Chain 5, then join them into a ring with a sl st into the first ch.
Round 1: Ch 4 (= 1 dc + 1 ch), *1 dc into the ring, 1 ch*, repeat *—* a total of 7 times. Finally, sl st into the 3rd ch of the round = 8 dc.
Round 2: Chain 4 (= 1 dc + 1 ch). Work 1 dc in the chain space, but leave the last pull-through undone (= 2 loops on the hook). Work 1 dc in the same chain space, but leave the last pull-through undone (= 3 loops on the hook). Yarn over and pull through all 3 loops on the hook = 1 loop on the hook (= 1 dc group). *Ch 1, 1 dc in the next dc, but leave the last pull-through undone (= 2 loops on the hook). 1 dc in the same chain space, but leave the last pull-through undone (= 3 loops on the hook). Yarn over and pull through all 3 loops on the hook = 1 loop on the hook (= 1 dc group), ch 1, 1 dc in the next dc, but leave the last pull-through undone (= 2 loops on the hook). 1 dc in the same dc, but leave the last pull-through undone (= 3 loops on the hook). Yarn over and pull through all 3 loops on the hook = 1 loop on the hook (= 1 dc group)*. Repeat *—* for the whole round. Finally, ch 1, 1 dc in the base of the first dc and sl st into the 3rd ch of the round = 16 dc groups.
Round 3: Ch 5 (= 1 dc + 2 ch). Work 1 dc in the chain space, but leave the last pull-through undone (= 2 loops on the hook). 1 dc in the same chain space, but leave the last pull-through undone (= 3 loops on the hook). Yarn over and pull through all 3 loops on the hook = 1 loop on the hook (= 1 dc group). *Ch 2, 1 dc in the next chain space, but leave the last pull-through undone (= 2 loops on the hook). 1 dc in the same chain space, but leave the last pull-through undone (= 3 loops on the hook). Yarn over and pull through all 3 loops on the hook = 1 loop on the hook (= 1 dc group)*. Repeat *—* around. Finally, ch 2, 1 dc in the last chain space, and sl st into the 3rd ch of the round = 16 dc groups.
Round 4: Ch 4, *3 dc in the next ch, 1 ch*, repeat *—*, then work 2 dc in the last ch and sl st into the 3rd ch of the round.
Round 5: Sc in the first ch, *ch 3, sc in the next ch, ch 3, sc in the same ch, ch 3, sc in the next ch, ch 3, sc in the next ch, ch 7, sc in the same ch, ch 3, sc in the next ch*. Repeat *—* to the end of the round, then finish with a sl st in the first sc of the round.
Round 6: Sc in the first sc of the previous round, *skip the 3-ch space, in the next 3-ch space work: 4 dc, 1 ch, 4 dc. Skip the next 3-ch space, sc in the next sc, skip the next 3-ch space, in the 7-ch space work: 6 dc, 2 ch, 6 dc. Skip the next 3-ch space, sc in the next sc*. Repeat *—* and finish with a sl st in the first sc of the round.
Round 7: *1 dc in the first sc (replace it with ch 3 on the first pass), ch 3, sc in the dc group’s ch space, ch 3, 1 dc in the next sc, ch 5, then for the corner (the 2-ch space) work: sc, ch 3, sc, ch 5*, repeat *—* and finish with a sl st in the 3rd ch of the round.
Round 8: Finally, work the entire round in sc, making one sc in each chain, sc, and dc from the previous round, except in the corner’s ch loop, where you work 5 sc. Sl st into the first sc of the round.
Crochet a total of 13 squares.
Joining the squares

The squares are joined in the order shown in the photo so that the right sides face out when the bag is finished. Place two squares right sides together and slip stitch on the wrong side. Insert the hook through the back loops of the last round to keep the right side neat. Join all squares to form the shape of the bag.

Handles and edging

Begin crocheting at the corner of the topmost square of the bag.
Round 1: Crochet 3 sc.
Round 2: *Turn the work, ch 1 (this replaces the first sc), then 2 sc*. Repeat *—* until the handle is about 30 cm or your desired length.
Attach the other end of the handle at the same spot on the opposite side using slip stitches. Make the second handle the same way. Then continue with one round of sc along both edges of the bag and around both handles. Fasten off.
