Crocheted rose headband for a child—instructions:
Small rose
Using red yarn, crochet a chain of 29 stitches and turn. *Sk 1 st, 9 dc in the next st, sk 1 st, sc*, repeat *—* 7 times. Cut the yarn, leaving a tail of about 20 cm. Roll the strip of petals into a rose shape, starting with the petal that has no loose ends.
Thread the loose ends onto a needle and sew the petals together from underneath using several stitches. Weave in the ends thoroughly, then trim them about 1 cm away. Make another red rose in the same way.
Large rose
Using pink yarn, crochet a chain of 37 stitches and turn. *Sk 1 st, 9 tr in the next st, sk 1 st, sc*, repeat *—* 9 times. Cut the yarn, leaving a tail of about 20 cm. Roll the strip of petals into a rose shape and secure them together as for the small rose.
Leaf
Using green yarn, crochet a chain of 8 stitches and turn. Ch 1, 2 sc, half dc, dc, *2 tr in the same st*, repeat *—*, then dc and half dc in the same st. Cut the yarn and weave in the ends on the wrong side. You need four leaves in total.
Assembling the headband
First glue the leaves in place, then attach the roses on top or alongside them in whatever arrangement you prefer.
Tip!
This pattern is sized for a child’s headband, but you can easily increase the flowers and leaves to make a headband sized for an adult.
