Crocheted flower square
- Round 1: With white yarn, make a slip knot and chain 4, join into a ring with a sl st. Crochet 8 sc into the ring and close the round with a sl st, switching to pink yarn.
- Round 2: Ch 3. In the first sc (insert hook under both loops) make 4 tr, leaving the last pull-through undone in each. When you have 5 loops on the hook, yarn over and pull through all of them. Then ch 3. *In the next sc, make 5 tr, yarn over and pull through all 6 loops, then ch 3.* Repeat from * to * 6 times. Join the round with a sl st, switching to blue yarn.
- Round 3: Ch 2. Make 2 dc in the starting corner. *In the next petal space, make 4 dc. In the following space, make 3 dc, 1 ch, and 3 dc.* Repeat from * to * 3 times. Then make 4 dc in the next space, and in the starting corner, make 3 dc and 1 ch. Join the round with a sl st and fasten off the yarn. Weave in all ends on the wrong side.
- Make four more squares the same way.
Join the squares together with a flat slip stitch seam

Place two squares side by side, insert the hook through the edge stitches of both squares, yarn over and pull through all loops (sl st).
Continue working sl st the same way through each pair of edge stitches. Fasten off the yarn and weave in the ends on the wrong side. Join the remaining squares in the same way.

Tip!
You can also use these crocheted flower squares for making a cushion cover, for example.

Tie strings
- Row 1: Insert the hook in the corner, yarn over and chain 1. Make 1 sc in each dc along the edge of the square = 10 sc.
- Row 2: Make 10 sc (insert the hook under both loops).
- Row 3: Make 4 sc, sc2tog (Insert the hook through both loops of the next sc, yarn over and pull through, then repeat the same into the next sc. Then yarn over and pull through all three loops.) Make 4 sc to finish the row.
- Row 4: Make 4 sc, sc2tog, 3 sc.
- Row 5: Make 3 sc, sc2tog, 3 sc.
- Row 6: Make 3 sc, sc2tog, 2 sc.
- Row 7: Make 2 sc, sc2tog, 2 sc.
- Row 8: Make 2 sc, sc2tog, 1 sc.
- Row 9: Make 1 sc, sc2tog, 1 sc.
- Row 10: Make 1 sc, sc2tog. Now 2 sc remain.
Now chain 61 for the tie, turn, and work 60 sc back along the chain (the one additional ch makes up for the turning). Join the tie with a sl st to the second sc, fasten off and weave in the ends. Make an identical tie on the other end.
Adjust the headband to fit by tying the strings together at the back of your neck.
