Crocheted dishcloth—pattern
Using two strands of yarn held together, ch 54.
Row 1: 1 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook (the loop on the hook does not count), *ch 1, skip 1 ch, 1 sc*, repeat from * to * to the end of the row.
Row 2: ch 1, 1 sc, 1 sc in the ch space, *ch 1, 1 sc in the ch space*, repeat from * to * across and end with 1 sc in the last st.
Row 3: ch 1, 1 sc, *ch 1, 1 sc in the ch space*, repeat from * to * across. Work the last sc one row lower, i.e. into the same st as the sc from the previous row, pulling the loop slightly longer. This helps keep the dishcloth edges neat and straight.
Row 4: ch 1, 1 sc, 1 sc in the ch space, *ch 1, 1 sc in the ch space*, repeat from * to * across, then make 1 sc in the sc of the previous row. Repeat Rows 3 and 4 until the dishcloth's height matches its width. Fasten off.

Here’s a tip!
Bamboo is an excellent choice for a dishcloth because it is a strong, absorbent fiber. It is also naturally antibacterial, which helps prevent germs and musty odors even when the cloth is wet.
