Coffee filter stars in minutes: make a wreath or use as Christmas tree decorations

A coffee filter star is an easy decoration you can put together in no time—even in bigger batches. In addition to the filters, you’ll need scissors, glue, and ribbon for hanging. Each star takes just a few minutes and requires five filters.

  • ribbon for hanging
  • scissors
  • a wreath base (if you choose to assemble a wreath)

Coffee filter star instructions:

Cut the seams off the coffee filters.

1. Cut the seams off the coffee filter.

2. Fold the coffee filter into an accordion shape about 1 cm (0.4″) wide. Continue all the way to the end.

4. Spread glue along the fold from end to end, and press it closed.

5. Next, glue the folded pieces to one another. Tie a string into a hanging loop and slip it in between the pieces. Then press together.

6. Glue the finished stars into a wreath or decorate the Christmas tree with individual stars.
