Candle holder from upcycled objects—instructions:
1. Pull out fun little items, figurines, and dishes you like but don’t really use on their own. Group them into matching sets by color, style, or size. Each set is the makings of one candle holder.
2. If some dishes or objects don’t fit the look, you can paint, tint, or cover them—for example with book pages and decoupage varnish.
3. To be safe, your candle holder needs to be very stable. Use buttons or curtain rings as needed to level the top candle cup. Coasters make handy mini platforms between a figure and a bowl. Make sure you glue the stacks straight.
4. Glue the layers according to your design with hot glue, construction adhesive, or silicone adhesive, depending on the materials. Silicone adhesive cures more slowly but creates the most durable bonds. Hot glue sets quickly and holds well, but on some materials it can pop off.
Remember, never leave candles burning unattended.
