Candle wax removal: Let it harden first and then get cleaning
It’s easiest to remove candle wax from clothing or other fabrics if you let the stain harden first. These tips will help you remove a wax stain effectively.
Candle wax removal: instructions
- Allow the candle wax to dry and harden. Then scrape off the hardened wax gently.
- Lightly press a lukewarm iron over the stain through a paper towel to soak up any grease.
- Try stain remover on colored stains.
- If the candle wax stain doesn’t come out completely, dab the area with white spirit. Then rub with soap and water, and rinse.
- Before using white spirit, test it on a discreet area to ensure the fabric can handle it. You can find white spirit at a hardware store.
- Finally, wash the garment or textile following its care instructions.
