Craft delicate candle ornaments that look like heirlooms passed down generations—using an empty tomato paste tube!
In many Nordic homes, you’ll come across charming brass candle ornaments shaped like twigs or branches. You can also craft these whimsical pieces yourself—with something as humble as an empty tomato paste tube. They’re simple to make and so enjoyable that you might find yourself crafting long into the night!
Candle ornament—materials:
- tomato paste tube
 - metal scissors
 - wooden spoon
 - a screw for making holes
 - ballpoint pen
 - metal wire

Candle ornament—instructions:

1. Empty out the tube of tomato paste, then cut it open. Rinse off any leftovers. Use a wooden spoon to smooth the metal surface.

2. Use a ballpoint pen to draw various leaf patterns on the metal. Cut them out with metal scissors.
3. Make a hanging hole in each leaf by pressing a screw through the metal.
4. Cut a piece of metal wire about 40–50 centimeters long. Wrap one end around the candle a few times so it stays securely in place.
5. Thread the leaves onto the wire one at a time and pinch them in place with your fingers. Fill the wire with leaves. Use different sizes for a beautifully natural look.
