Serene or bold? 5 bedspread ideas to transform your bedroom

A bedspread has a central impact on the bedroom’s ambiance. Are you drawn to graphic stripes, earthy linen, or perhaps a bedspread inspired by the 1950s? We’ve gathered five beautifully decorated bedrooms from our home features to spark your imagination.

1. Fresh stripes

An ageless stripe pattern is always in style. A black-and-white bedspread creates a striking combination with electric blue sheets and a burgundy wall. It’s easy to change the bedroom’s atmosphere simply by adjusting the bedding arrangement. Black sheets would add drama, while white sheets might make the look feel stale. The arrangement stays balanced if the sheet color is as bold as the darker stripe.

The bedspread is made from Hakola’s Mega Stripe wool fabric. Both the bolster pillows and Hakola’s Nest bed are upholstered in the same fabric. The wall’s on-trend shade is Cover Story’s 025 Oscar.

2. Layered in linen

A bedding arrangement entirely in linen textiles feels effortlessly romantic. The bedspread is neatly folded at the foot of the bed, revealing the ochre-colored duvet covers that complement the wall color. A pleated bed skirt is a handy way to hide an underwhelming box spring.

The wall color is Cover Story’s 022 Evelyn. The rattan headboard was purchased on Tori online marketplace. Similar linen bedding is available, for example, at Ellos Home.

3. Plush squares

A quilted bedspread delivers a neat, hotel-style look, while velvet pillows keep it soft and inviting. Contrasting materials and colors create a sense of luxury. Gray highlights the glow of peach and orange tones.

4. Spot on

This playful Scandinavian-style bedding arrangement features a circle-quilted bedspread and a fall-colored wool blanket. A padded bedspread is fuss-free because it stays put, making it easy to switch up your bedding style. A firm bedspread is an ideal base for both minimalist and maximalist looks.

The Mega Dot cotton bedspread with circle quilting is by Hay. The Vuosirenkaat blanket is by Marimekko. The resident made the headboard from painted wooden dowels.

5. Traditional patterns

In this 1950s-style bedroom, the bedspread matches the colors of vintage rya rugs and pillows. It’s sewn from a double-sided, pattern-woven Finnish upholstery fabric. The mud-toned wall makes the bedspread’s fresh greenish-turquoise tone pop.

The resident’s grandmother’s handwoven rya rugs and pillows lend a cozy feel. The bedspread is sewn from Johanna Gullichsen’s Helios upholstery fabric.
