1. Bilberry sprigs and Christmas baubles
This whimsical wreath made from bilberry sprigs is decorated with festive Christmas baubles.
2. Subtle festive atmosphere
The delicate wreath on a metal ring graces the bedroom, hanging from a wall lamp.
3. Heartfelt charm
Evergreen branches bend into a charming heart-shaped wreath. This Christmas wreath is made from spruce branches, but other evergreens work too. You can shape the base into any form you like using birch twigs or wire.
4. New life for leftover yarns
A cheerful wreath can be made from leftover yarn. For a harmonious look, use yarns of the same shade, or create a joyful wreath with colorful balls. Wrap the yarn tightly into small balls, secure the ends with a drop of glue, and glue the balls into a wreath shape. For the base, you can use cardboard cut into shape or a styrofoam ring.
5. Red on white
Two identical, berry-filled Christmas wreaths adorn the double doors. They bring just the right touch of festive red to the light-toned interior. You can make a vivid red wreath from rose hips, for example.
6. Simple beauty
Sometimes less is more. A beautiful evergreen wreath shines in its simplicity, whether on its own or with subtle decorations. A wreath made from fresh branches also brings the forest scent of evergreens into your home.
7. Lovely curls
The flower stems of fireweed curl beautifully as they wither and dry. Florist Saara Nevala crafted this wreath for her cottage. A fireweed wreath brings joy all year round! You can also use other winter stems [in Finnish]—only your imagination is the limit.
8. Plenty of bling bling
The most eye-catching wreath of the season glows in jewel tones. This one certainly won’t go unnoticed!
9. A guiding light
“Welcome!” A heart-shaped light hung on the corner of the house and a candle lantern show the way for Christmas guests. A welcoming light decoration can also serve as a wreath.
10. Rustic charm
A wreath made from old wooden blocks looks wonderfully rustic and romantic. Just the right decoration for vintage double doors!
11. Old books turned into a beauty
Beautiful wreaths can be crafted inexpensively from recycled materials. Just look at this beauty made from book pages!
12. The classic always works
A wreath assembled from evergreens and pine cones is a timeless classic. The burlap bow completes this earthy ensemble. Or perhaps you’ll make a wreath from just pine cones?
13. A giant hula wreath
Have a dusty hula hoop lying around? Great! You can use it as a handy base for a giant wreath—we’ll get back to those exercises sometime next year.

Remember this when crafting wreaths
If you’re making wreaths from natural materials, it’s important check your local guidelines for collecting materials from nature.
In Finland, you can collect natural materials according to the Everyman’s Rights (Jokaisenoikeudet): from the forest, you may collect only fallen cones, evergreens, and tree branches without the landowner’s permission. Moss and lichen cannot be collected without permission. You may collect small amounts of bilberry and lingonberry sprigs without the landowner’s consent.
